MINISTRIES
Grow in Faith. Serve with Purpose. Belong in Community.
At Riverside Covenant Church, ministries are where people connect, grow in faith, serve others, and build meaningful relationships. We believe everyone has gifts, and there are many ways for children, youth, and adults to be involved in the life of the church. Whether through worship, serving, learning, fellowship, or prayer, there is a place for you here.

CHILDREN'S
MINISTRY
Helping Children Grow
in Faith and Community.
Our Children’s Ministry is a dynamic hybrid ministry where children are both part of the larger congregation and also participate in their own age-appropriate programming.
Children begin Sunday worship with the congregation, then transition to children’s ministry, and return at the end of the service. We also celebrate Communion together twice a month, and children are included in this important time of worship and community.
We want children to know they are not just the future of the church — they are an important part of the church right now.
✝: Interactive and Engaging Learning.
We use The Orange Curriculum, an interactive and engaging program that helps children learn about faith through activities, discussion, creativity, and relationships. Children are not sitting through a classroom-style lesson — they are actively participating, learning, creating, and growing in their understanding of God’s love.

✝: Sensory-Friendly and Inclusive Worship.
We believe everyone should be able to fully participate in worship. When you walk into the church, you will find a sensory bin with tools available for anyone who may need them, including headphones, fidget tools, and other sensory supports. We also provide ribbons and movement tools so children can worship with their whole selves through movement, creativity, and expression.
Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where people can be themselves and fully participate in worship.

✝: Children’s Programming by Age.
Nursery Care (Infants through Preschool)
Story time, care, and age-appropriate Bible activities in a safe and nurturing environment.
Sunday School / Children’s Ministry (Kindergarten through 5th Grade)
Interactive Bible learning, activities, and community building designed specifically for elementary ages.
What to Expect During Sunday Service?
Our Children’s ministry provides children with a fun, inviting place to be as they are nurtured in their Christian faith.
Children sit with their parents for opening worship songs and an interactive children’s message. After the children’s message, children are invited to join their peers to explore scripture and life with Jesus and to enjoy being together through arts and crafts.
Parents walk their kids toward the gym and sign them in with one of our teachers. Classes are taught by a rotating team of enthusiastic teachers eager to share the love of God with your children. Children’s ministry includes a short lesson followed by a craft or game.
Our teachers will bring children back to rejoin their parents for the communion and the closing song.
Care is provided for children under 3 years of age in the nursery room off of the gym for the entire service. The service is live-streamed to this room so that nursing mothers can watch the service, should they need to nurse their babies.

YOUTH
MINISTRY
Building Faith, Community,
and Leadership
Youth Group meets on Sunday nights and welcomes students beginning in 6th grade. Our program is designed to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring space where young people can explore their faith, ask questions, and grow spiritually.
Through dynamic discussions, interactive activities, and shared experiences, youth are encouraged to deepen their understanding of God’s love while developing meaningful relationships with peers and adult mentors.
✝: Empowering Youth to Lead and Serve.
Beyond learning and discussion, our Youth Group places a strong emphasis on community and service. Members engage in hands-on projects, outreach initiatives, and church events that allow them to make a positive impact both inside and outside the congregation. We also offer opportunities for youth to take on leadership roles within the church, empowering them to contribute their talents, ideas, and energy to our ministry in meaningful ways.
Ultimately, our Youth Group is more than just a weekly meeting—it’s a vibrant, supportive community where students can build lasting friendships, deepen their faith, and experience the joy of living out God’s calling in their everyday lives.

✝: Youth Serving Opportunities.
Children and youth are encouraged to serve in a variety of ways, including:
-
Greeting and welcoming members and visitors
-
Joining the media and tech team
-
Participating in music and worship
-
Assisting in Sunday School (6th grade and up)
-
Assisting in the Nursery Room (4 years and under)
-
Supporting church events and service projects
We believe that young people are capable of meaningful leadership and can make important contributions to the life and mission of the church. By serving, they grow in responsibility, confidence, and a deeper understanding of faith in action.
